Nassau Park gets a Shade Tree makeover
|
On
Saturday, April 12th, the Franklin Shade
Tree Commission chose Nassau Park for its
annual Arbor Day planting. 30 trees, including
Red Maple, Sugar Maple and Thundercloud
Plum were planted around the park perimeter.
In past years, Dunham Lebed, Middlebush, and
Naaman Williams parks were landscaped. In past years, DeMott and New Brunswick roads were landscaped with street trees, and a
detention basin received trees as well.
Each year, the Commission chooses a park or street to receive new trees for Arbor Day.
This year, Albert Galdi, Maricel Galdi, Mark Evans, Steven Evans, Justin Orsini, Mike Orsini, John Brewer, Frank McLaughlin and Berit Marshall
participated.
If you are interested in helping, continue to check the town website for volunteer opportunities. If you have a suggestion for a park, street or other Township-owned place that you think could use more trees,
please send your suggestions to our email: franklintrees@patmedia.net.
The Commission wishes to thank the Dept. of Public Works, Township Engineer Tom Zilinek and Township Manager Ken Daly for their continued support.
