First Nursery Grown Trees Installed in DeLar Park

On April 10th 2004, the Shade Tree Commission planted its first nursery grown trees in DeLar Park. These trees were planted at the South Middlebush Tree Farm in April of 2002 as 18”' bareroot seedlings. They now average 8-10 feet in height and are ready to thrive in our Township parks. These trees are the first of hundreds planted in the nursery that will be ready to transplant to parks and streets in the coming years. We plan to continue planting new seedlings so we'll have a continuous source of young trees. We'll also be planting some unique types of trees that will enhance the diversity of species found in the town. We hope that you will enjoy having these trees in our parks for years to come. If you are interested in helping us, please contact Mike Orsini, Shade Tree Commission chair at franklintrees@patmedia.net.
