FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP IS HOSTING ‘THE GREEN FORUM 2010’
The Franklin Township Environmental Commission is partnering with Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU), Somerset County, and PSEG Services Corporation to present ‘The Green Forum 2010’ on April 17, 2010.
There is a real desire in our community to know more about how to help to reduce our dependency on foreign oil, save our trees and open spaces, and assist in the prevention of climate change/global warming. The Green Forum 2010 is designed to provide the information, tools, and resources to assist the community and individuals in “Going Green.” Going Green is not about making sacrifices. Rather, it is about doing things that we normally do in a different way.
The Green Forum 2010 will be presented on April 17, 2010 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Franklin Township Municipal Building on DeMott Lane. The event will feature exhibits on Solar Energy, Energy Efficiency, Recycling, and Solar Construction. There will be a keynote speaker followed by other speakers on the subjects of Home and Business Energy Audits; The Solar Loan Program; Improving Somerset County Recycling; The Benefits of Sustainable Jersey Certification; and Case Studies of Operating Local Solar Installations. There will be questions and answers, green product giveaways, brochures, websites, and interactive exhibits. Further details regarding the Green Forum will be provided on the Environmental Commission’s website at; www.franklintwpnj.org/environmental_commission.html.
The Green Forum 2010 will have something for everyone from the young to seniors to business owners, environmental groups, science clubs, educators, community groups, and families. Mark your calendars and come out to The Green Forum 2010.
