MATERNAL & CHILD
HEALTH
- Infants and pre-school
children (up to age five) may attend the CHILD HEALTH CONFERENCES
(Well Child Clinics). A physician and the public health nurses
provide: physical exams; immunizations; lead and anemia screening;
counseling and education. Visits are free or for a nominal
fee based on income and family size.
- SCHOOL-AGED IMMUNIZATION
PROGRAMS offer free immunizations to those over five years
of age and are held several times a year.
- The Women, Infants & Children
Program (WIC) offers food supplements and nutrition counseling
to qualifying pregnant and breastfeeding women, their infants
and children under age five. Eligibility is based on income
and nutritional need. Call WIC at 1-800-762-6140.
- FAMILY PLANNING CLINIC
includes complete family planning and contraceptive services
provided by a physician.
