NOTICE OF AMENDMENT TO THE FY2012 BUDGET

HAMILTON STREET SPECIAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT

            At it meeting of June 14, 2011, the Township Council of the Township of Franklin introduced and approved the Hamilton Street Special Improvement District Budget for the period of July 1, 2011 – June 30, 2012 in the amount of $115,000.00.

After notice of advertisement in the Township’s official newspaper, The Courier News, on June 20, 2011, the Township Council conducted a public hearing on July 12, 2011.  The Township Council has determined that at least one (1) week prior to the hearing, a complete copy of the proposed budgets were (a) advertised; (b) posted in the Township Clerk’s Office; and (c) made available to each person requesting the same before and during the public hearing.  All persons having interest in the budget were given the opportunity to present objections.  The Township Council of the Township of Franklin having considered the comments at the public hearing is of the opinion that it is appropriate and desirable to amend the budget by resolution after closing the hearing.

The Mayor and Township Council of the Township of Franklin, County of Somerset amended the FY2012 Hamilton Street Special Improvement District Budget as follows:

HAMILTON STREET SPECIAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT

            TAKE NOTICE that the Township Council of the Township of Franklin, at a meeting held on August 9, 2011 and beginning at 7:00 p.m. will consider objections to the Amended FY2012 Special Assessments to be levied against benefited and assessable properties in the Hamilton Street Special Improvement District.  The Amended Assessment Roll, prepared by the Township Assessor, has been filed in the Office of the Township Clerk, at the Franklin Township Municipal Building, 475 DeMott Lane, Somerset, NJ 08873, and is available there for inspection.  During the week prior to and up to and including the date of such meeting copies of the full assessment roll will be available at no cost and during regular business hours, at the Clerk’s office for the members of the general public who shall request the same.

PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the following ordinance was approved for final adoption by the Township Council of the Township of Franklin at a Regular Meeting held JULY 12, 2011:

AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF FRANKLIN BY ADDING A NEW CHAPTER 188, TO BE ENTITLED FIREWOOD.

SUMMARY

This ordinance provides requirements for the storage of firewood used for fuel or decorative burning in a fireplace or stove.

BOND ORDINANCE NO. 3941-11 STATEMENTS AND SUMMARY

            The bond ordinance, the summary terms of which are included herein, has been finally adopted by the Township Council of the Township of Franklin, in the County of Somerset, State of New Jersey on July 12, 2011 and the twenty (20) day period of limitation within which a suit, action or proceeding questioning the validity of such ordinance can be commenced, as provided in the Local Bond Law, has begun to run from the date of the first publication of this statement.  Copies of the full ordinance are available at no cost and during regular business hours at the Clerk’s office for members of the general public who request the same.  The summary of the terms of such bond ordinance follows:
