Re: Change in Fingerprinting Procedures
Effective May 24, 2010, the Franklin Township Police Department will no longer fingerprint volunteer firefighter and EMS personnel on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. A new State imposed fingerprinting program was established and as a result, the Police Department has implemented a new system for fingerprinting. Fingerprinting will only be done by appointment. The new procedure for volunteer background fingerprinting is as follows:
Contact Professional Services at 732-873-5533, x2028 to schedule your appointment for fingerprinting. If leaving a voicemail, please be sure to clearly leave your name, volunteer agency and your contact numbers, preferably a cell phone.
Corporal Cerra will contact all applicants with availability for fingerprinting and schedule the appointment accordingly.
Note: Fingerprinting must now be performed on our Live Scan system, which is located in the prisoner cell block. If a prisoner is in custody, civilians CANNOT be in the prisoner cell block area. Appointments are subject to IMMEDIATE CANCELLATION if a prisoner is in custody at the time of the appointment. Appointments will be re-scheduled accordingly.
