INCOME-QUALIFIED SENIORS
GET BREAK ON WATER BILLS
FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, New Jersey-October
13, 2003-The Township of Franklin Township Council passed an ordinance
reducing the water rates for Senior Citizens on limited incomes.
Residents who are property owners and 65 years of age or older with an
annual income of $10,000 or less qualify for the reduction. Also qualified
are those residents who are disabled under any Federal law administered
by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs or any state-approved
program.
All senior citizens currently receiving the yearly deduction on property
taxes are already approved and will automatically receive the reduction
on their next bills.
To sign up for the program, residents should visit the Tax Collectors'
office in the Municipal Building at 475 DeMott Lane, Somerset. For additional
