The Township Council at their March 11, 2008 meeting issued a proclamation naming the month of March as National Women’s History Month, and urged all citizens to take the opportunity t6o recognize and reflect on the progress made to advance women’s equality, to take stock of the challenges facing women today, and to celebrate the gains made by women in our society

 

The Township Council at their March 11, 2008 meeting issued a proclamation recognizing March 9-15, 2008 as Girl Scout Week. They called upon all citizens of the Township to recognize and support the contributions made by Girl Scouts and adult volunteers toward improving the quality of life in our community. Juliette Low founded girl scouting in 1912 in Savannah Georgia with one troop of 18 girls, and since then more than 50 million girls have built leadership skills through the girl scouts.
