· The Township Council issued a proclamation on April 8, 2008 recognizing the Franklin Woman’s Club for their service to Franklin Township since 1922 and their 80-year membership in the state and national federation of women’s clubs. They have promoted education, conservation and service to the community in many areas, including:

§ Repair of the footbridge between East Millstone and Millstone

§ A Township Christmas tree

§ Holiday dinners for needy children

§ Support of the preservation of the Delaware and Raritan Canal, Mettler’s Woods and the Township’s oldest Dutch House

§ Construction of a nature trail in Colonial Park

§ Scholarships for local high school girls

§ Sponsoring of a high school student for Grils’ Career Institute at Douglas College

§ Support of the Food Bank, Animal Shelter and Library through volunteer hours and donations
