Franklin Township Proclamations
FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP,
New Jersey—May 23, 2006—The Franklin Township Council at
their May 23th meeting had the following proclamations.
The
Township Council presented commendations to students from Franklin
High School who won the state Academic, Cultural, Technological and
Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO), a major youth initiative of the National
Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). They will
compete at the national ACT-SO competition in Washington, DC

The
Township Council presented commendations to members of the Franklin
Township Youth Council and participants of the Showcase for Diversity/Taste
of Hamilton held on May 7. The event raised $2,000 for the Franklin
Township Food Bank.
Restaurants who participated included Awujoh, Brisas Paisas, Bombay
Grill & Bistro, CT's Barbeque, Nicola's Pizzeria, and Sophie's
Bistro. Roland Catiis, Hamilton Street Business and Community Corporation,
and the Franklin Township Human Relations Commission all helped make
this such a successful event.
Thanks also went to Franklin's Economic Development staff members
Efren Dato and Jarrett Sutton, and Recreation staff members Saffie
Kallon, Shonda Sanchex, Sue vanAken, Bruce Medley, Pat Francis, Dara
Azevedo, Gloria Fidecaro, Patty Daniel, and Department Head Alice
Osipowitz.
Members of the Youth Council include: Aditi Desai, Alissa Hartgrove,
Ashley Andem, Brielle D'Angiolilo, Collin Dougher, Gaurav Sharma,
Georgia Kinsley, Jasmine Chow, Joseph Lee, Joshua Ugwunei, Kayla Mosley,
Lawrence Plummer, Matt Naman, Max Wei, Michael Naman, Michael Silvestri,
Nadio Shaikh, Rafi Shamim, Sharlene Laud, Shirin Pustchi, Simone Waters,
Sydney Plummer, Tom Armstrong, and Williams Beams.

The
Township Council proclaimed June, 2006 as Myasthenia Gravis Awareness
Month. Myasthenias Gravis is the most common neuromuscular disorder affecting
the
residents
of New Jersey.
