· The Township Council at their July 8, 2008 meeting presented a commendation to Franklin’s Wolgast Tree Farm for its participation in the River-Friendly Farm Program. The program seeks to recognize farms that, through good management, help to protect water resources within the watershed. The voluntary program was initiated to address water quality concerns within the Raritan River Basin. Applicants are judged on the management of soil loss, nutrients, pests, stream corridor and irrigation water. Wolgast Farm is located on Bennetts Lane in Somerset.
