Agenda-Franklin Township Shade Tree Commission-June 24th 2004-7:30pm, Municipal Bldg. Large Conference Room

1. Fall tree sale

• Decide date (Saturday) rain date (Sunday)
• Discuss and decide who will procure materials and letter signs (at least 3-4) for posting outside farm entrance and key locations around town.

2. Op-Cop on Saturday 9/11/04

• Begin to discuss and decide upon layout for posters-possible suggestions: plantings, farm, community outreach (i.e snapshot of website and Franklin Times, FAQ list), (9/11, Arbor Day, Tree city USA); organize into themes; each poster panel can represent a theme.

3. Historic/significant tree registry.

• Decide upon information in “application” that we will ask from the public, like contact info, location, species, DBH, age, uniqueness or rarity of species, significant events or history associated with the tree, etc. Design in format that is accessable online.

• Decide how or if we will verify information, e.g. phone call, personal visit etc., and who will do this.

• Will Albert, Albert and some other volunteers, contact the Historic preservation committee, Meadows Foundation, or consult township history to locate significant trees and get them nominated. Perhaps one call to the Meadows will suffice to get them to inventory their properties and report to us?
