Please join us as we honor those who have bravely served in the military in pursuit of freedom at the 2018 Franklin Township Veterans Day Ceremony being held Monday, November 12th at the Franklin Township Municipal Building. The ceremony will begin at 10:30 a.m.  There will be an honorary bell ringing at 11:11 a.m. at the Veterans Day Memorial outdoors.

Americans have honored those who served our country in the US Armed forces on November 11th for the last 100 years.  Originally known as Armistice Day, the day commemorated the end of World War I. The armistice between Allied Forces and Germany took effect at 11:00 AM on November 11, 1918—the "eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month.”

Years later, in 1954, under the Eisenhower administration, the day became known as Veterans Day. Since that time, thousands of brave men and women have been called to service to protect this country and its people. Please join us in celebrating them during the 2018 Franklin Township Veterans Day Ceremony.
