GENERAL PURPOSE
Under immediate supervision of the Animal Control Officer, this position performs custodial and maintenance functions for the animal shelter and assists the Animal Control Officer in related duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Cleans kennels and cat cages.
• Feeds animals.
• Cleans office, work room and restroom.
• Maintains grounds around animal shelter and ensures proper garbage and waste control.
• Occasionally assists the Animal Control Officer in the pickup of stray animals.
• Filing.
• Answers Telephones.
• Assists with public.
• Other related tasks/duties as required or assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Must possess some experience in handling animals.
• Must have experience with Microsoft Office.
• Must possess valid New Jersey Driver’s License.

• Requires normal to correctable vision and hearing.

MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
• Requires some knowledge of simple bookkeeping with minimal clerical skills.
• Must be able to understand and follow simple written and verbal instructions.
• Should possess emotional stability and social competence to deal adequately and courteously with the public.
