Shade Tree Commission
The Franklin Township Shade Tree Commission promotes the conservation and stewardship of trees throughout the Township by advising township officials regarding planting, care and maintenance of trees on township-owned lands. The Commission will assist Franklin Township residents by increasing awareness of the benefits of arboriculture and providing advice and information regarding the selection, planting and care of trees.
The 2023 Spring Tree Sale is Cancelled
The Franklin Township Shade Tree Commission has cancelled the 2023 spring tree sale because they were unable to secure acceptable bare root tree stock
2023 Spring Tree Sale is Cancelled
We regret that we must cancel the Shade Tree Commission’s Annual Tree Sale for the Spring of 2023. We were unable to secure acceptable bare root tree stock due to on-going COVID-related supply chain disruptions and impacts from last summer’s drought. We hope to resume the sale next year.
Spring is a great time to add shade trees to your yard or to replace trees that may have been lost to recent storms, drought, or killed by the Emerald Ash Borer. We encourage you to visit any of Franklin Township’s excellent local nurseries to fill your spring planting needs.
