The Franklin Township Police Department Community Relations Bureau (CRB) serves as a liaison between law enforcement and the community, promoting understanding, trust, and collaboration through various programs, initiatives, and outreach efforts aimed at enhancing public safety and building positive relationships.

National Night Out in Franklin is Tuesday, August 1st

National Night Out (NNO) is a township wide event to bring together law enforcement and citizens while promoting awareness, safety, and neighborhood unity through games, activities and music.

National Night out is upon us!  National Night Out (NNO) is a township wide event to bring together law enforcement and citizens while promoting awareness, safety, and neighborhood unity through games, activities and music.  2023 is the 40th anniversary of this drug and crime prevention event.  Please come out and enjoy a night with your Franklin Community.  We will be shutting down the municipal complex, 475 DeMott Lane, Somerset on Tuesday, August 1st from 6pm-9pm to enjoy:

  • Food
  • Games
  • Prizes
  • Music
  • Vendors
  • FUN!!! 

There will be a police motorcycle and cars, fire trucks, ambulance, the National Guard, and construction equipment for the kids to explore.

We will have Sabrett All Beef Hotdogs and chicken skewers, each available for a $1.00 donation.  All proceeds will be given to the Franklin Food Bank. Pooja Restaurant will also be on hand with vegetarian options. Finally, finish the night off with a visit to Josefa’s ice cream truck!

The Franklin Township Police is offering Public Safety Building tours!  You must sign up and a limited amount will be allowed in each session. We are offering 5 sessions with limited visitors in each session (6PM, 6:30PM, 7PM, 7:30PM, & 8PM). You must submit a request form and be confirmed to be accepted in. https://franklintwp.seamlessdocs.com/f/BuildingTour

Parking available in the lot next to the Gazebo, Sampson G Smith School, & BOE building (Amwell & Charles St). Handicap and VIP parking is located behind the gas pumps in the Municipal Complex.

In the event of inclement weather the event will be rescheduled to Tuesday, August 8th.
