Shade Tree Commission
The Franklin Township Shade Tree Commission promotes the conservation and stewardship of trees throughout the Township by advising township officials regarding planting, care and maintenance of trees on township-owned lands. The Commission will assist Franklin Township residents by increasing awareness of the benefits of arboriculture and providing advice and information regarding the selection, planting and care of trees.

September is National Preparedness Month!
Residents and business owners are encouraged to take time during September to prepare for emergencies and natural disasters that can lead to flooding, loss of power, road closures, property damage, and contamination to our natural resources. The United States Environmental Protection Agency’s web-page and Ready.Gov have compiled a variety of resources to make our community more resilient during emergencies and extreme weather events.

First, know your risk. Then, understand your needs during emergencies.
STEP 2 MAKE A PLAN
Develop a comprehensive emergency plan and emergency preparedness kit tailored to your unique needs.
STEP 3 ENGAGE YOUR SUPPORT NETWORK
Build a strong support network and include them in your emergency planning.
