Franklin Township Community Relations Bureau: Cooking with Cops

The Franklin Township Police Community Relations Bureau is excited to announce the continuation and expansion of its popular "Cooking with Cops" program. This initiative is designed to bring together youth and police officers in the kitchen, fostering positive relationships while teaching valuable culinary skills.

Cooking with Cops

"Cooking with Cops" offers high school students a unique opportunity to learn about food and kitchen safety, food preparation, proper food storage, and various cooking methods. Participants will create simple, yet delicious meals that they can enjoy at the end of each class. This program not only aims to teach culinary skills but also to build trust and rapport between the youth and local law enforcement.

Details for High School Students:

  • Grades: 9th - 12th
  • Dates: Fridays in July (July 5, 12, 19, 26) and Tuesday, August 6 and Friday, August 9
  • Time: 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM
  • Location: Community Relations Bureau, 935 Hamilton Street, Somerset
  • Registration Deadline: June 21st

Cooking with Cops Junior

New this year, the program has been expanded to include middle school students. "Cooking with Cops Junior" will provide a similar experience tailored to younger participants. Middle schoolers will also learn essential kitchen skills and enjoy the fruits of their labor in a supportive and engaging environment.

  • Grades: 6th - 8th
  • Dates: July 11th and July 15th - 18th
  • Time: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
  • Location: Franklin Middle School-Hamilton Street Campus, 415 Francis Street, Somerset
  • Registration Deadline: June 28th
