A Somerset, NJ resident was the victim of theft by deception between 10/25/25 and 12/03/25. The victim shared photos with an unknown suspect online. The suspect demanded money in lieu of sharing the photos with the victim’s family. The victim sent $1,700.00 in gift cards to the suspect.

Elias A. Guzman, 29, of New Brunswick, NJ was arrested for defiant trespassing and possession of drug paraphernalia during an investigation at a business located in the area of Somerset St. Guzman was located at a business he was previously trespassed from. He was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. Guzman was processed and released on a summons. “NOTE: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation, and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.”

Javon Robinson, 32, of New Brunswick, NJ was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of our jurisdiction by North Brunswick PD. The FTPD took custody of Robinson and transported him to the Somerset County Jail after he was processed. “NOTE: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation, and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.”
A business located in the area of Hamilton St. was the victim of a shoplifting during the afternoon hours. Three unknown juveniles exited the store without paying for merchandise. The value of the merchandise could not be determined at the time of report.

An Edison, NJ business was the victim of a burglary and theft in the area of Webster Rd. during the afternoon hours. The unknown suspect entered a company vehicle and stole items that were out for delivery. The suspect fled in a blue sedan.

The suspect scanned only six items of the entire cart. The items were left behind when the suspect was confronted by an employee. The employee identified the suspect.
