A Somerset, NJ resident was the victim of a theft on 03/07/26 in the area of Hamilton St. The victim left personal property behind at an acquaintance’s residence. The victim returned to the residence to retrieve his property, but it was unable to be located. The property was valued at $865.00. The suspect(s) is unknown.

03/09/2026

Pierre R. Lafleur, 38, of Somerset, NJ was arrested for DWI during a motor vehicle stop in the area of Rt. 27. Lafleur was processed and released with a pending court appearance. “NOTE: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation, and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.”

Edward Velasquez, 40, of Somerset, NJ turned himself in on an outstanding warrant out of our jurisdiction. Velasquez was processed and transported to the Somerset County Jail. “NOTE: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation, and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.”

A Somerset, NJ resident was the victim of theft by deception on 02/05/26. The victim sold an item via Facebook Marketplace to the suspect. The suspect allegedly sent a $300.00 payment to the victim. An unknown white male arrived at the victim’s residence to retrieve the item and agreed to buy another item valued at $3,500.00. The victim never received the $3,800.00 payment from the suspect.

A Somerset, NJ resident was the victim of theft by deception on 03/07/26. The victim purchased several items from an alleged friend via Facebook. The victim sent a payment of $3,585.00 via PayPal for the items. A few days later, the victim was alerted that her friend’s account was hacked by an unknown suspect. The victim never received the items she paid for.

Ignacio Sanchez, 58, of Princeton, NJ was arrested for DWI during a motor vehicle crash investigation in the area of Rt.27. Sanchez was processed and released with a pending court appearance. “NOTE: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation, and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.”

Casey J. Brice, 39, of Somerset, NJ was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of Highland Park, NJ during a suspicious person investigation in the area of Cedar Grove Ln. Brice was processed and turned over to Highland Park PD. “NOTE: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation, and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.”

Tyrone L. Hamlett, 43, of New Brunswick, NJ was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of our jurisdiction. Hamlett was processed and transported to the Somerset County Jail. “NOTE: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation, and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.”

A business located in the area of Hamilton St. was the victim of a theft and criminal mischief on 03/10/26. Three unknown Hispanic males cut the wires to a credit/debit card machine and fled the store with it. The machine was valued at $1,000.00 and the damaged wires were valued at $1,500.00.

Devine A. Smith, 26, of Somerset, NJ was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of our jurisdiction during a field interview. Smith was processed and released on his own recognizance. “NOTE: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation, and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.”

A business located in the area of Veronica Ave. was the victim of a shoplifting during the afternoon hours. An unknown black female exited the store without paying for merchandise valued at $16.00. The suspect fled the area in a Nissan Sentra.

03/12/2026

A Somerset, NJ resident was the victim of a theft on 03/11/26 in the area of Phillips Rd. The unknown suspect(s) stole the victim’s temporary registration off his newly purchased vehicle. The plate was entered stolen into a national database.

Duquan M. Childs, 34, of Manville, NJ was arrested for shoplifting during an investigation at a business located in the area of Elizabeth Ave. Childs exited the store without paying for merchandise valued at $208.00. Childs was processed and released on a summons. “NOTE: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation, and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.”

A Somerset, NJ resident was the victim of a theft between 03/09/26 and 03/10/26 in the area of Hamilton St. An unknown black male was observed on surveillance stealing the victim’s delivered package. The contents were valued at $140.00.

03/13/2026

A Somerset, NJ resident was the victim of a burglary and criminal mischief in the area of Baier Ave. during the overnight hours. The unknown suspect(s) broke the victim’s sunroof to make entry into the vehicle. Nothing of value was taken. The sunroof was valued at $800.00.

Patrol recovered a stolen motor vehicle from an outside jurisdiction in the area of JFK Blvd. during the morning hours. The unoccupied vehicle had damage to the door lock and steering wheel column. The suspect(s) is unknown. The reporting jurisdiction was notified of the recovery.

A Somerset, NJ resident was the victim of theft by deception on 03/12/26. The victim provided the unknown suspect with sensitive personal information before sending $400.00 for legal services. The suspect, who claimed to be from Catholic Charities, requested more money via a text messaging app. At this point, the victim realized she was scammed.

A business located in the area of Elizabeth Ave. was the victim of a shoplifting during the afternoon hours. A white male exited the store without paying for merchandise valued at $8.00 and fled the area in a white Ford Escape. The suspect is known to the business as a frequent shoplifter.

Carlos Canedo Garcia, 53, of New Brunswick, NJ was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of our jurisdiction. Canedo Garcia was processed and transported to the Somerset County Jail. “NOTE: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation, and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.”

Bryan Williams, 30, of Edison, NJ was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of our jurisdiction by Edison PD. The FTPD took custody of Williams and transported him to the Somerset County Jail after he was processed. “NOTE: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation, and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.”

03/14/2026

Jason M. Goode, 42, of Somerset, NJ was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of our jurisdiction by New Brunswick PD. The FTPD took custody of Goode and transported him to the Somerset County Jail after he was processed. “NOTE: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation, and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.”

Jose Pineda, 32, of New Brunswick, NJ was arrested for burglary, criminal mischief, and theft during an investigation in the area of Home St. The investigation revealed that Pineda entered a vehicle by breaking a window. Pineda was processed and turned over to the Somerset County Sheriff’s Department. “NOTE: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation, and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.”

A Somerset, NJ resident was the victim of a burglary and criminal mischief in the area of Hamilton St. during the overnight hours. Two unknown male suspects were captured on surveillance entering the victim’s vehicle by damaging the door lock. Once inside, they damaged the steering column in a possible attempt to steal the vehicle. The damage was valued at $5,000.00.

A Somerset, NJ resident was the victim of a theft in the area of Hamilton St. during the overnight hours. Two unknown male suspects were captured on surveillance stealing the victim’s motor vehicle. The vehicle was entered stolen into a national database. The vehicle was later recovered, unoccupied, in an outside jurisdiction. The vehicle had damage to the door lock and steering column.

A North Brunswick, NJ resident was the victim of a theft in the area of Hamilton St. during the overnight hours. The unknown suspect(s) stole the victim’s motor vehicle, which was used during the commission of crimes in our jurisdiction. Patrol recovered the motor vehicle, unoccupied, prior to it being reported stolen by the victim.

Omar Salomon, 42, of Somerset, NJ was arrested for theft and possession of drug paraphernalia during an investigation in the area of Home St. Patrol located Salomon who matched the description of a suspect who stole a delivered package. He was found to be in possession of the stolen package. The package was returned to the victim. Salomon was processed and transported to the Somerset County Jail. “NOTE: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation, and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.”

A business located in the area of Rt. 27 was the victim of a shoplifting during the afternoon hours. An unknown black female exited the store without paying for merchandise valued at $87.00.

A Somerset, NJ resident was the victim of criminal mischief in the area of Canterbury Cir. during the daytime hours. An unknown suspect was captured on surveillance keying the victim’s vehicle. The damage was valued at $3,000.00.
