A portion of the product valued at $550,000.00 was stolen by the unknown suspect(s) during the shipment phase.

A Somerset, NJ resident was the victim of a theft between 11/01/25 and 03/23/26 in the area of Baier Ave. The unknown suspect(s) stole the victim’s license plate and incurred toll violations. The plate was entered stolen into a national database.

Patrol responded to a hotel in the area of Worlds Fair Dr. several times during the overnight hours on reports of criminal activity and police assistance requests. Each time patrol arrived to investigate the reported criminal activity and requests for police assistance, the caller, Shawn Young, 38, of Carteret, NJ was uncooperative and shut his door on the officers. All reports of criminal activity were unfounded. Young was issued a summons for making false reports and misuse of the 911 system. “NOTE: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation, and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.”
Nachanta N. Powell, 38, of Somerset, NJ turned herself in on an outstanding warrant out of our jurisdiction. Powell was processed and transported to the Somerset County Jail. “NOTE: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation, and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.”

An apartment complex in the area of Franklin Ct. was the victim of criminal mischief on 03/24/26. Three juvenile suspects kicked the victim’s door causing damage valued at $650.00. The suspects have been identified.
Joel E. Zavala, 37, of Somerset, NJ was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of our jurisdiction by Plainfield PD. The FTPD took custody of Zavala and transported him to the Somerset County Jail. “NOTE: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation, and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.”
A Somerset, NJ resident was the victim of theft by deception on 03/23/26. The victim received a phone call from the unknown suspect advising that her bank account had been compromised. The alleged bank representative instructed her to meet two couriers at the bank and provide them with cash from her bank account. The victim did as instructed and gave $20,000.00 to two unknown black males. The money was allegedly being transferred to a newly protected bank account for the victim.

A business located in the area of Rt. 27 was the victim of a theft during the afternoon hours. An unknown black male fueled his beige Toyota Sienna and fled the gas station without paying. The stolen fuel was valued at $64.00.
A Somerset, NJ resident was the victim of theft by deception on 09/01/25. The victim booked travel plans through an alleged travel agent by the name of “Keyera Glover.” The victim attempted to confirm the reservation made by the agent, but it appeared that one was never made. The suspect could no longer be contacted by the victim. The victim suffered a loss of $836.00.
A business located in the area of Hamilton St. was the victim of a shoplifting during the evening hours. A black male exited the store without paying for an unknown amount of merchandise. The suspect fled the area in a silver sedan. The suspect is known to the business as a frequent shoplifter.
