A Somerset, NJ resident was the victim of a theft in the area of Willow Ave. during the afternoon hours. The unknown suspect(s) dismantled a car port tent and then stole it from the victim’s property. The tent was valued at $533.00. The suspect(s) fled in a black SUV.

An employee of a business located in the area of Veronica Ave. was the victim of an assault during a verbal altercation with a black male who was trespassing. The suspect put the employee in a headlock and brought him to the floor. The suspect then fled the store. The suspect was identified and complaint signing procedures were explained. Patrol canvassed the area for the suspect with negative results.

Omar Cobral, 46, of Somerset, NJ was arrested for DWI after he struck an occupied patrol car that was conducting traffic enforcement in the area of Rt. 27. Cobral continued driving and was located shortly after. Cobral was processed and released with a pending court appearance. “NOTE: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation, and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.”

A business located in the area of Rt. 27 was the victim of a shoplifting during the morning hours. An unknown black male exited the store without paying for an unknown amount of merchandise.

A Somerset, NJ resident was the victim of porch piracy on 04/19/26 in the area of Paulina Pl. The unknown suspect(s) stole the victim’s delivered package. The contents were valued at $1,066.00.

A Somerset, NJ resident was the victim of a theft on 04/15/26 in the area of Cartier Dr. The victim was unloading his vehicle upon returning from a trip. The unknown suspect(s) stole unattended personal property that was left outside the vehicle. The stolen property was valued at $1,000.00.

Abusamad Short III, 19, of Somerset, NJ was arrested for hindering apprehension during a fight investigation in the area of Phillips Rd. Short III failed to provide his name during a lawful investigation and refused to cooperate with the arrest process while at HQs. Short III was processed under “John Doe” until he was able to be identified. Short III was transported to the Somerset County Jail. “NOTE: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation, and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.”

Long H. Lee, 42, of Piscataway, NJ was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Department during a motor vehicle stop in the area of Cedar Grove Ln. Lee was processed and transported to the Middlesex County Workhouse. “NOTE: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation, and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.”

A business located in the area of Easton Ave. was the victim of a shoplifting during the morning hours. An unknown black male exited the store without paying for merchandise valued at $348.00. The male hopped a nearby fence and fled the area in an unknown vehicle.

Ezell Miller III, 51, of Piscataway, NJ was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of Woodbridge Twp., NJ and New Brunswick, NJ during a motor vehicle stop in the area of Millstone Rd. Miller III was processed and turned over to New Brunswick PD. “NOTE: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation, and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.”

A stolen motor vehicle from an outside jurisdiction was recovered in the area of Kingsberry Dr. during the morning hours. A Somerset, NJ resident purchased the vehicle via Facebook Marketplace for $10,500.00. The NJ DMV initiated an investigation when fraudulent paperwork was presented at the facility by the victim. The unknown suspect(s) altered the VIN numbers on the vehicle and created fake paperwork to sell the stolen vehicle to the victim.

A Somerset, NJ resident was the victim of a burglary and theft on 04/22/26 in the area of Ari Dr. The victim submitted a request to have her smoke alarm fixed. The alarm was fixed while she was at work. During this time a jar filled with $600.00 worth of quarters was found to be missing from her apartment. There were no signs of forced entry.

A Parlin, NJ resident was the victim of theft by deception on 04/08/26. The victim found an advertisement for an apartment rental on Facebook Marketplace. After communicating with suspects, Eddie Roberts and Michael Streeter, she sent a $3,770.00 deposit to secure the apartment, which was located in the area of Liberty Ln. Once the money was sent the suspects could no longer be contacted.  

An Edison, NJ resident was the victim of criminal mischief in the area of Easton Ave. during the evening hours. The victim was providing a ride share service and upon pulling into the complex he heard a loud bang. The unknown suspect(s) appeared to throw a beer can from a balcony, which struck the roof of the vehicle. The damage was valued at $500.00.

Pranav K. Patel, 48, of Somerset, NJ was arrested for DWI during a motor vehicle crash investigation in the area of Beekman Rd. Brandon Cooley-Watson, 34, of Whitwell, TN was arrested for obstructing the administration of law, resisting arrest, and obstructing highways and passages during a disturbance investigation in the area of Worlds Fair Dr. Cooley-Watson was almost struck by a vehicle due to walking in the middle of the street. Cooley-Watson attempted to run from officers during a lawful investigation. During the arrest he failed to comply with officers. Cooley-Watson was processed and released on a summons. “NOTE: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation, and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.”

A Somerset, NJ resident was the victim of theft by deception on 04/24/26. The victim received a text that an unauthorized payment was attempted at a business out of state. Shortly after, the victim received a call from an alleged bank representative who instructed her to withdraw $9,569.00 due to a nationwide scam. The unknown suspect instructed the victim to meet two unknown males at a bank in an outside jurisdiction and turn over the money so it can be investigated by the FBI. After doing so, the victim realized she was scammed.
