A Hispanic male purposely damaged the victim’s side view mirror during a business transaction. The damage was valued at $15.00. Complaint signing procedures were explained to the victim.

Tony Herrera Lopez, 28, of New Brunswick, NJ was arrested for DWI during a motor vehicle crash investigation in the area of Hamilton St. Lopez was processed and released with a pending court appearance. “NOTE: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation, and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.”

Patrol located a juvenile male in the driver’s seat of the victim’s vehicle. The juvenile male was arrested and charged accordingly. The defendant was processed and released to a juvenile correctional facility. “NOTE: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation, and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.”

A Somerset, NJ resident was the victim of theft by deception on 07/21/26. The victim received an email from PayPal advising her of fraudulent purchases on her account. The victim called the number listed on the email and an unknown male convinced the victim that her accounts were compromised. The suspect instructed the victim to meet with representatives in person and provide them cash to rectify the issue. The victim obliged and provided $48,800.00 to two unknown Asian males.

A Somerset, NJ resident was the victim of theft by deception on 07/01/26. The victim met the unknown suspect on a dating website. The suspect claimed he was arrested and requested money from the victim to assist with his bail. The victim purchased gift cards valued at $10,000.00 and provided the serial numbers to the suspect before realizing she was the victim of a scam.

A Somerset, NJ resident was the victim of theft by deception on 07/22/26. The victim received an email from her son’s school listing items for sale by an alleged staff member. The victim sent $1,200.00 to the unknown suspect as a deposit on a vehicle. After sending payment, the victim received an email from the school advising that the email was a scam.

A Somerset, NJ resident was the victim of a theft between 12/20/24 and 05/20/26. The suspect stole checks from the victim and cashed them in the amount of $5,000.00. The suspect is believed to have access to the residence to provide medical assistance to the victim.

An unknown suspect was captured on surveillance cutting a cover to gain access to the bed of the victim’s pick-up truck. The suspect(s) stole property valued at $1,000.00. The damaged cover was valued at $600.00.

The unknown male suspect was captured on surveillance pulling on the locked door handles of the victim’s vehicle in an attempt to gain entry. Patrol canvassed the area for the suspect with negative results.
