On August 17, 2017 at 6:46 PM the Franklin Township Police Department responded to the intersection of Franklin Boulevard and Highland Avenue for a motor vehicle crash.  The investigation revealed that an ambulance from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital was travelling northbound on Franklin Boulevard when it collided with a 2006 Harley Davidson in the intersection of Highland Avenue.  The motorcycle was heading eastbound on Highland Avenue at the time of the crash.   The ambulance was transporting a patient and had its emergency warning lights and sirens activated at the time of the crash.  The rider of the motorcycle, Louis Kadubic, 47, of Somerset suffered a nonlife threatening head injury and broken arm in the crash.  The driver of the ambulance, Jason Meizenis, 43 years old, was uninjured in the crash.   Additional emergency medical personnel responded to the scene to transport Kadubic and the original patient to local area hospitals.

The Franklin Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Bureau responded to the scene to investigate the crash.  Franklin Boulevard was reduced to one lane of travel for several hours during the investigation.  Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact Cpl.
