Franklin Township Youth Center Groundbreaking Ceremony

Post Date:08/09/2019

The Franklin Township Youth Center Groundbreaking Ceremony will take place on Thursday, August 15th at 10:30 am at 429 Lewis Street in Somerset.

Councilwoman Kimberly Francois who is spearheading the project will be joined by Franklin Township Mayor Phil Kramer, the Township Council and staff, the Franklin Township Public Library, and H&S Construction and Mechanical, Inc.

The youth center has been an idea for over four decades and is scheduled to be completed by the fall of next year.

The two-story, modern, atrium-like youth center will be furnished with a  gymnasium, music and video studio, lounges, and counseling areas.  As a bonus, the Franklin Township Public Library will have a satellite branch onsite!

“Franklin Township has always made our youth one of our top priorities. This groundbreaking ceremony symbolizes the beginning of the construction of the Franklin Township Youth Center and the momentous and ongoing investment the Township is making in the future of our youth. I am so proud and very excited to lead this historic game-changing event,” said Councilwoman Kimberly Francois.

The Center will provide a welcoming and safe environment for the youth, empowering them to set and achieve goals while focusing on the eight elements of the mission: safety, pride, cool, and special, respect, inclusive, learning, and achievable.
