REMINDER from the Environmental Commission and Green Team:
DON’T THROW MEDICINES IN THE TRASH OR FLUSH THEM DOWN THE TOILET
Franklin Township residents are asked to bring their unused, unwanted and/or expired prescription medications to the police station behind the Municipal Building on DeMott Lane. The police station is across from the library and there is a large clearly marked canister in the lobby which is open 24/7.
The sewage treatment plant is unable to remove these chemicals and they wind up in our rivers which are a source of drinking water as well as necessary for fish and wildlife. Chemicals in our landfills leak into the groundwater and are a source of pollution.
Our future is affected by what we do today.
Please put your medicines in the container at the police station.
