On December 6th, Parks & Recreation hosted the township’s annual holiday tree lighting. The festivities began with a warm welcome from Parks & Rec Superintendent Beau Byrtus, followed by remarks from the Honorable Mayor Philip Kramer and other township dignitaries who extended season’s greetings to the many families in attendance. The lighting of the tree was followed by a special performance by the Franklin High School Madrigals and procession to the Senior Community Center led by the Boy Scout Troop #154. In addition to complimentary cupcakes, cocoa and candy canes, the indoor festivities featured crafts and activities hosted by the Youth Council, Franklin Public Library and Girl Scouts Troop 63200. Music also filled the air as children joyfully shared their holiday wishes with a very special guest, Mr. Santa Claus.
