This subcommittee works on disseminating information about upcoming events, current environmental trends, and sustainability topics to the public. This subcommittee also reviews the Environmental Commission’s website and social media to ensure the information is current and relevant to its mission. We are always looking for new members to assist with the design of social media posts, as well as drafting of articles and other content.

This subcommittee organizes events and opportunities about emerging environmental issues, stewardship, and sustainability. The Environmental Commission understands the importance educating and engaging the community so that these practices and projects can be duplicated at a variety of scales, making environmentally sound behavior the standard of practice. We are always looking for assistance from, and partnership with, community members and groups to advance these initiatives!  

This subcommittee reviews legislation, policies, and emerging technologies related to energy conservation and efficiencies, as well as infrastructure improvements and development. In addition to providing information about these issues, this subcommittee also investigates grant opportunities and strategic planning. We are always looking for assistance from members of the public that have experience and expertise in this area

The Environmental Commission is charged with reviewing site plans before the Planning Board and/or Zoning Board of Adjustment for environmental impacts of the proposed development. This subcommittee reviews these plans and presents their findings and recommendations to the full Commission at each meeting. Following this review, a report is prepared and sent to the Planning Board and/or Board of Adjustment members to assist in their work.
