Home MenuArrive Together Program
The ARRIVE (Alternative Responses to Reduce Instances of Violence & Escalation) Together Program landed in Franklin Township in 2023 as the first municipality in Somerset County to participate in the program. Introduced by the New Jersey State Police, the program recognizes the importance of addressing mental health concerns with compassion, understanding, and specialized expertise. The initiative seeks to help police de-escalate situations, provide immediate support to individuals in crisis, and ensure the safety of both the community and the responding officers.
In partnership with Bridgeway Behavioral Health Services, Franklin Township Police Department ARRIVE program is equipped with an officer and mental health clinician, sharing an office and vehicle, providing individuals suffering from a mental health episode with the care they need quickly and effectively. Additionally, they follow up on those calls to ensure the individual is doing well and does not need additional mental health care.
