Franklin Township Stigma-Free Business Pledge

[Business/Organization] joins the Township of Franklin in declaring our business Stigma-Free. One in four adults experiences a diagnosable mental health or substance use condition every year, and many of these individuals do not seek help because of fear of judgment from friends, family, and coworkers.

Stigma is the label of shame associated with specific group stereotypes and are often associated with certain memberships or characteristics, such as those with mental health or substance use conditions. Stigmas can create barriers and challenges in relationships, employment, and more. By understanding and normalizing these experiences, we can create a more supportive Franklin Township where residents can feel accepted and comfortable seeking help. 

[Business/Organization] hopes to raise awareness of mental health and substance use disorders, reduce the stigma, and encourage those who are affected to seek services and feel supported. We pledge to work to create an inclusive culture, promote awareness, and use our business platform to lead by example, so no resident needs to feel hopeless or alone.
