Centrally located at the crossroads of Middlesex, Mercer and Somerset Counties, Franklin Township is 46.5 square miles of pristine, rural suburban and cosmopolitan environments in one expansive landscape. Originally home to the Raritan Indians, Franklin became home to Dutch Settlers in 1650, and is believed to have been named after Benjamin Franklin.

Franklin boasts an educated, diverse and prosperous population of 50, 903 with an average age of 36 – a population that has increased 5% since 1990.
