Black women were essential contributors to the Revolutionary cause, demonstrating strength, resilience, and leadership in the face of extraordinary challenges. They served as messengers, nurses, spies, providers, and protectors of their families and communities. Both enslaved and free Black women played vital roles in supporting the fight for freedom and advancing the cause of justice.
